ChainCatcher news, according to the African Business Daily, the Kenyan Ministry of Finance has stated that the global cryptocurrency exchange, which is estimated to have 4 million users in Kenya, will begin to levy a 1.5% digital tax on its revenue. It is reported that the digital tax was initially proposed in 2020 as an attempt by the Kenyan government to extract revenue from leading cryptocurrency exchanges and tax-avoiding digital asset platforms.
