XDC Network Development Roadmap Released

Today, we are excited to announce the work that has been ongoing for the past five months. Many people ------ community members, partners, and independent contractors ------ have been working hard to outline this roadmap. I am incredibly proud of their efforts.

Before I began my role as Head of Ecosystem Development in February, my task, along with a small group of community members, was to release the XDC Network roadmap. We collaborated with the XinFin team to turn our existing developments into reality and highlighted many exciting projects being developed on the network.

Shortly after the release of our existing roadmap last January, my task was to outline a new development roadmap focusing on the technological solutions we are building on-chain.

Anyone working in this industry can confirm that there is a significant shortage of developers in the blockchain space. Despite the wealth of imagination, practicality, and applications, one of the many challenges faced by blockchain projects is the lack of qualified developers. Therefore, one of our main goals over the past few months has been to continue building our development team to deliver the solutions highlighted in this roadmap. Although there have been many challenges and bumps along the way, we have worked hard to ensure we have the resources to facilitate and support project development from independent community contributors and the XDC Foundation.

Looking back at that time, I was amazed at how we could find people specialized in this unique expertise. It was particularly challenging to discover that everyone we spoke to in the crypto space was also pursuing the same talent. The scarcity of developers made our goals seem even harder to achieve.

Today, as I review our projects, I can say that we have positioned ourselves to achieve this roadmap by taking consistent actions every day and focusing on our goals.

Not only have we been able to assemble an amazing team of developers in early spring, but we have also devised a plan to train ten new developers and add them to our team each quarter.

To stand out as a leading project and strive to be the best, you cannot just desire it… you must execute. That is what we have done. We have invested in our ecosystem by choosing to work with the best and applying the right resources to ensure success.

We have made a plan. We are executing our plan. Today, we are proud to present our new development roadmap to the community. Thousands of hours have already been invested in these developments, and many more hours will follow as we move towards very specific goals, all outlined here.

At the same time, we will work to optimize all the tools developers need to build easily on the XDC Network, emphasizing practicality and developer experience. Many of these tools will facilitate further development of the XDC Network, as they will save developers weeks of work when connecting to our chain. For example, our SDK allows for building NFTs using our XRC721 standard. Other technological developments will set benchmarks for how NFTs evolve to represent more than just digital artworks. We believe that layer one, EVM-compatible platforms that support smart contracts, especially those with privacy features (like the XDC Network), will attract many ecosystem participants as more people continue to use blockchain technology for various use cases. With our NFT marketplace and tools available for developers, people now have technological solutions for unique ownership (NFTs) applicable to all forms. The applications of these human-centric technological solutions will be as limitless as the developers' imagination.

Overall, this roadmap reflects the work of the entire XinFin team, the XDC Foundation, our partners, and most importantly, the community members. When I say let us unite and focus on a single goal, I speak for myself: to become the best layer one protocol in the blockchain space and do so for the right reasons, to improve people's quality of life. Here, we have the opportunity to change the very layer of communication itself through tokenization, trade finance asset allocation, non-fungible asset creation, decentralized email, and decentralized storage. After all, communication is merely the exchange of ideas, value, and trust. The XDC Network strives to be that layer.

This is our roadmap, but the place we are going does not require a road!
