A man in South Korea was sentenced to prison after continuously committing robbery and theft due to a debt of 50 million won from failed cryptocurrency investments

ChainCatcher news, according to Yonhap News Agency, a man in South Korea has been sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison, with a 3-year probation, and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service by the Gwangju District Court for special robbery and theft after accumulating a debt of 50 million won due to failed cryptocurrency investments, involving a series of robberies and thefts.

The 22-year-old man was charged with entering a convenience store in Gwangju's Dong District in June 2023 armed, threatening the clerk, and stealing 570,000 won, along with committing four counts of theft.
