ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated in an interview with Israel Channel 13 that during the Israel-Iran conflict, the Israeli side had planned to "eliminate" Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei, but had never found a suitable opportunity.

Katz said, "If he enters our line of sight, we will take action." He added, "We originally hoped to eliminate Khamenei, but did not find a feasible operational timing." When asked if he had sought U.S. approval for the operation, Katz replied, "We do not need to obtain permission for such matters."
