The CBDC ban bill in North Carolina, USA, was vetoed by the governor

2024-07-07 14:45:21

ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper vetoed a bill that would have prohibited the state from implementing a central bank digital currency issued by the Federal Reserve, despite the bill receiving nearly unanimous support from both the House and Senate. Roy Cooper has faced criticism for making a politically motivated decision, and in a statement on June 5, he explained that House Bill 690 was "premature, vague, and reactionary," and not suitable for signing into law.
