GWEI Cloud Summit Second Week Topics Launched, First Week Highlights Review
On April 13, the Global Web3 Ecological Innovation Cloud Summit (GWEI Cloud Summit) was officially announced, kicking off a more than one-month journey into the early summer of Web3. After the first week's forum concludes, we will continue with the exciting agenda of the second week of our GWEI2022 Cloud Summit: New Era | Comprehensive Understanding of ETH's Present and Future.
As is well known, the merge will mark the end of Ethereum's POW journey.
With the merge approaching, what specific impacts will this upgrade bring to Ethereum and its ecosystem?
How will Ethereum achieve scalability next?
As ordinary users, when can we experience the benefits brought by the merge?
On Wednesday (April 27) at 8 PM, independent researcher/former Chain News research director Pan Zhixiong, Chainlink China head Philip, and original Yulilang initiator Yao Xiang will gather online to discuss Panel 2 topic "New Era · Comprehensive Understanding of ETH's Present and Future", exploring the industry focal event of Ethereum's merge and interpreting Ethereum's present and future!
Live Broadcast Time: April 27, 20:00 UTC+8 (Wednesday at 8 PM)
Live Broadcast Link: https://www.gweisummit.com/
Guest Speakers: Former Chain News research director Pan Zhixiong, Chainlink China head Philip, original Yulilang initiator Yao Xiang
The Ethereum Theme Week will last from April 25 to April 29, and participants in the live broadcast will receive the Cyro badge, which is the second NFT badge issued by this GWEI Cloud Summit.
Cyro, in ancient Greek κρύος, represents cold.
It is now difficult to find derivatives of cyro or English words prefixed with cyro. What we can see are only specialized terms like cyrophilic or cryogenic, and we won't encounter Cyro in everyday life. The ancient Greeks used it to describe cold, but we tend to think of Cyro as representing resilience and legend, like ancient glaciers.

First Week Content Review
From April 18 to April 22, the first week of the Cloud Summit featured two live forums themed around Crypto old friends, successfully concluding. Let's review some of the highlights!
On April 18, the first forum of the GWEI Cloud Summit "Friends Reunion · New Horizons" invited Shen Yu, co-founder of F2Pool and Cobo, Super Jun, the community leader of Benmo Block, and Amber, head of DapperLabs China, to bring us an insightful dialogue on Web3.
When discussing GameFi and future development trends, Shen Yu stated that "the merge of Ethereum and the emergence of layer two networks will create a wave of wealth effects comparable to what we have seen in competitive public chain layer one networks over the past two years. This year or next, we may see one or two dominant layer two networks emerge. GameFi requires a long R&D cycle; over the past year, much of GameFi has been DeFi with a skin or rough graphics with low playability. As many new players emerge in the industry, we should see a batch of truly meaningful GameFi this year, and many opportunities for extraordinary wealth like A Crab may explode in the coming months."
When discussing the development of NFTs, Amber believes that "NFT + DAO is a very natural combination because the cultural consensus represented by NFTs and the organizational consensus in the operation of DAOs are very similar. She is very optimistic about this direction. She also pointed out that under the current economic situation, DAO organizations will definitely participate in more social collaborations in the future, with a core issue being the need to execute without trust, which still has significant exploration space at the tool level."
Super Jun stated, "Bitcoin is the cornerstone of the crypto industry, gathering the greatest trust in the industry. Choosing the safest Bitcoin is sufficient." Regarding the development of DeFi, Super Jun said, "Currently, many DeFi protocol tokens have dropped by 80-90%, but some protocol tokens capture more value daily than they release in tokens. I will adopt a value investment perspective and allocate some based on traditional PE valuation."
On April 19, the GWEI Cloud Summit continued with exciting discussions featuring Hu Jie, a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University/Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance and an executive member of the Blockchain Committee of the China Computer Federation, blockchain and digital asset researcher Meng Yan, and Wu Xiao, founder of Pure White Matrix, who deeply explored issues such as the Federal Reserve's interest rate hikes, market hotspots, and choices for entrepreneurs under the topic "Black Swans and Gray Rhinos."
Regarding how practitioners and entrepreneurs can keep up with market developments, Meng Yan offered three suggestions: "First, participate in the international market; second, engage in Web3, as Web3 is an important upgrade for this industry and is necessary to keep up with new trends. Third, maintain patience; the real demand for Web3 projects will not appear quickly, but you must believe that Web3 can generate real demand. This network effect, which combines some unique positive feedback loops of token economies, will be more pronounced than the network effects we are familiar with in the internet and mobile internet."
Wu Xiao also shared his views on this issue, stating, "Do more Web3, be more of a Builder, and do less trading. Engage in meaningful activities; as long as you truly commit, there will be opportunities. The current Web2 is too competitive, and Web3 just gives us a systematic opportunity."
Since last year, the metaverse has been the most sought-after track by capital, and Hu Jie provided this judgment: "In a market like China, there should be great opportunities starting from B2B, as many enterprises now realize the significant potential of using online tools for marketing. With the emergence of the concept of Web3.0 and new tools from blockchain, marketing in this new technological space is not only possible but also essential."
