According to Chain Catcher news, Russian local media Izvestia reported that Ivan Chebeskov, head of the Financial Stability Department of the Russian Ministry of Finance, stated that Russia may start accepting Bitcoin and some cryptocurrencies as a payment method for international trade as early as 2023. Daniil Egorov, head of the Federal Tax Service, mentioned that tax regulations for international cryptocurrency payments are being developed.

On September 5, Alexey Moiseyev, Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia, stated in an interview with the Russia 24 television channel that the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Russia have reconsidered their approach to cryptocurrencies and believe it is necessary to legalize cross-border settlements with these currencies in the near future.
