The U.S. Treasury sanctions wallet addresses of Russian-related organizations linked to neo-Nazis
Chain Catcher News, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has approved sanctions against cryptocurrency addresses related to Russian military task forces. The sanctioned addresses include BTC, ETH, and USDT. OFAC stated that they belong to the Rusich group, a sabotage and reconnaissance organization linked to neo-Nazism, which has multiple aliases. A total of 22 individuals and 2 entities have been sanctioned for assisting in the aggression against Ukraine.
Starting from March 1 of this year, the U.S. Treasury's new regulations on sanctions against Russia prohibit providing any support to certain Russian oligarchs and entities in U.S. accounts. Specifically, any fraudulent or structured transactions or dealings that evade U.S. sanctions for the benefit of the Russian Federation or its interests, including those involving the use of digital currencies or assets, will result in the freezing of all property and interests in property of such persons that are within the United States, later within the United States, or now or in the future owned or controlled by any U.S. person.
