The Indonesian Ministry of Trade plans to issue new regulations for the management of cryptocurrency exchanges
According to Chain Catcher news and Reuters, Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga stated that the ministry plans to issue new regulations governing cryptocurrency exchanges, requiring that two-thirds of the board and commissioners must be Indonesian citizens residing in the country. The new rules will also require exchanges to use third parties to store customer funds and prohibit exchanges from reinvesting the stored cryptocurrency assets.
Sambuaga mentioned that the ministry's Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) will soon release the new regulations, but did not disclose a specific timeline. (Source link)
