Chain Catcher News, the Federal Reserve FOMC's September dot plot shows that the Fed expects to raise interest rates by at least 75 basis points in 2022 and will not cut rates until 2024. Fed Chairman Powell stated, "Inflation expectations seem to be well controlled, and the pace of rate hikes depends on future data. At some point, we will slow down the pace of rate hikes. We may need to implement restrictive policies for a period of time and make decisions at successive meetings."
According to CME's "Fed Watch": the probability of the Fed raising rates to the 3.50%-3.75% range in November is 29.6%, the probability of raising to the 3.75%-4.00% range is 60%, the probability of raising to the 4.00%-4.25% range is 10.4%, and the probability of raising to the 4.25%-4.50% range is 0%; the probability of raising to the 3.75%-4.00% range in December is 5.6%, the probability of raising to the 4.00%-4.25% range is 35.3%, the probability of raising to the 4.25%-4.50% range is 50.7%, and the probability of raising to the 4.50%-4.75% range is 8.4%.
