Scroll co-founder Zhang Ye announced the roadmap: a decentralized sequencer will be deployed after the launch of the zkEVM mainnet
Chain Catcher news, at the 8th Blockchain Global Summit hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Lab, Zhang Ye, co-founder of Scroll, delivered a keynote speech titled "The Design and Architecture of Scroll." Scroll is building an EVM-equivalent ZK Rollup, with design decisions following security, efficiency, EVM equivalence, and decentralization. Its architecture consists of three parts: Scroll nodes, on-chain smart contracts, and a decentralized prover network.
Zhang Ye stated that Scroll has currently completed the pre-Alpha testnet. The next phase will invite developers to deploy some smart contracts based on its network and develop additional applications; the third phase will initiate the outsourcing of layer two proofs, inviting the community to participate as proof nodes; the fourth phase will reach the zkEVM mainnet stage, which will be deployed and launched after rigorous code audits and performance enhancements; the fifth phase will deploy a decentralized sequencer, making zkEVM more efficient.
