ChainCatcher news, Circle announced the upcoming launch of a cross-chain transfer protocol to support USDC interoperability. This permissionless product allows USDC to be sent natively within the ecosystem, enhancing liquidity and reducing fragmentation of bridged assets. The protocol is planned to go live later this year on the Ethereum and Avalanche mainnets, with LayerZero Labs, Wormhole, BitGo, and Avalanche being the first to integrate into the platform.

Circle and the USDC issuer also stated that they plan to offer USDC in five blockchain ecosystems: Arbitrum, Cosmos, NEAR, Optimism, and Polkadot in the future. (The Block)
