ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, IBC ecosystem Cosmos co-founder Ethan Buchman stated that following the BSC exploit, members of the core teams of Cosmos and Osmosis have been conducting extensive audits on IBC, and a critical security vulnerability has been discovered. This vulnerability affects all Cosmos chains that support IBC and applies to all versions of IBC.

Additionally, steps have been taken to ensure that all major public chains supporting IBC are patched. Once 1/3 of the voting power is applied to the patch, there will be no threat from the critical vulnerability. Once the official patch is released, the remaining 2/3 of the chains should also be patched as soon as possible. The public version of the patch will be released within 24 hours in CosmosSDK v0.45.9 and v0.46.3 at 14:00 UTC on October 14 (22:00 Beijing time on October 14). (source link)
