SBF: FTX is in talks for a new round of financing, part of which will be used for acquisitions
ChainCatcher news, FTX founder SBF stated at the Wall Street Journal's Tech Live conference that he is negotiating a new round of financing with investors for "effective acquisitions" to attract more retail investors. SBF said, "The user adoption rate of FTX so far has been slow, and I don't think attracting more professional traders is very meaningful; we are more focused on retail investors; in the future, FTX will no longer focus on rescue-type acquisitions like those made earlier this year."
According to reports, in September this year, FTX is negotiating with potential investors to raise about $1 billion at a valuation of approximately $32 billion (the same as the previous round of financing) according to sources cited by CNBC. (source link)
