CryptoPunk #5822 has been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most expensive NFT collectible to date

ChainCatcher news, the official website of the Guinness World Records shows that CryptoPunk #5822 has been recognized as the most expensive NFT collectible to date, with a purchase price of 8000 ETH, which, calculated at the peak Ethereum price in February 2022, is approximately 23.7 million USD. The buyer is Deepak Thapliyal, CEO of the blockchain technology startup Chain.

ChainCatcher previously reported that Guinness World Records has included Bitcoin and a series of blockchain events in the "Cryptomania" category of the 2023 Guinness World Records book. (source link)
