Deribit has resumed Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDC withdrawals
ChainCatcher news, cryptocurrency derivatives exchange Deribit tweeted that after earlier opening Copper Clearloop and Cobo withdrawal, the Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDC withdrawal functions for users have now been restored. Deribit stated that all hot wallets have been migrated to Fireblocks, and users need to generate new deposit addresses. If users deposit into the old address, they can manually retrieve the assets, but it may take a longer time.
All on-chain withdrawals temporarily require manual approval from Deribit administrators. In addition, Deribit also stated that it has appointed an on-chain forensics company to assist in tracking and recovering assets and to liaise with global law enforcement agencies. Customer or account information has not been leaked.
ChainCatcher reported yesterday that cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform Deribit announced that its hot wallet was hacked, resulting in a loss of $28 million, but customer funds are safe, and the loss will be covered by the company's reserves. (source link)
