ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, nearly 4,000 people have used the CryptoLaw petition application to demand that the U.S. Congress investigate the actions of SEC Chairman Gary Gensler in the FTX fraud case.

The petition states: "Before the FTX bankruptcy, Gensler had met with SBF. Members of Congress have been informed that Gensler worked with SBF to grant FTX regulatory exemptions while a massive fraud was taking place right under the SEC's nose. It is time for Congress to conduct a thorough investigation into Gensler's role in the FTX financial fraud case."

It is reported that U.S. Congressman Tom Emmer previously stated that he is investigating SEC Chairman Gary Gensler's assistance to SBF and FTX in exploiting legal loopholes. The Wall Street Journal has indicated that the SEC may bear significant responsibility for the FTX incident. (Cointelegraph)
