ChainCatcher news, the Ethereum Foundation announced that the Ropsten testnet has been deprecated and will be shut down in the coming weeks. Over the past few months, infrastructure providers have gradually stopped supporting this test network, and the participation rate of validating nodes has steadily declined. The vast majority of the remaining validating nodes will be shut down between December 15 and 31, 2022. After this period, Ropsten will no longer receive support from clients, testing, or infrastructure teams. Subsequently, Rinkeby will also gradually cease to be used.

Previously reported, the Ethereum Foundation announced the deprecation of the Kiln, Rinkeby, and Ropsten testnets, focusing on maintaining the Goerli and Sepolia testnets. (source link)
