Vitalik published an article discussing noteworthy application categories in the Ethereum ecosystem

ChainCatcher message, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin published an article titled "What Excites Me About the Ethereum Application Ecosystem." The article states that the excitement around Ethereum is no longer based on the potential of undiscovered unknowns, but rather on specific categories of applications that have already proven themselves and will only become stronger. The article discusses five aspects: currency (the first and most important application), DeFi (keeping it simple), identity ecosystem (ENS, SIWE, PoH, POAP, SBT), DAO, and hybrid applications.

In addition, Vitalik Buterin also mentioned that many of these applications will need to overcome privacy issues in the long run. The collapse of FTX has shown many the importance of holding funds through truly decentralized solutions.
