CNBC: SBF arrested in the Bahamas, may be extradited back to the United States

ChainCatcher news, after U.S. law enforcement agencies filed charges against SBF, Bahamian authorities arrested SBF. The Attorney General of the Bahamas stated that the U.S. has filed unspecified criminal charges against SBF and "may seek to extradite him."

Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis said in a statement: "The Bahamas and the United States have a shared interest in holding accountable all individuals associated with FTX who may have betrayed public trust and violated the law. The U.S. is pursuing criminal charges against FTX. As for SBF, the Bahamas will continue its own regulatory and criminal investigation into the collapse of FTX in ongoing cooperation with law enforcement and regulatory partners in the U.S. and elsewhere."

It is reported that SBF will testify before the U.S. House Financial Services Committee on December 13, and his arrest is the first concrete action taken by regulators. (CNBC)
