Three groups of the Democratic Party in the United States have stated that they will return over $1.1 million in political donations from SBF
ChainCatcher news, according to Yahoo Finance, three major Democratic campaign groups in the United States have indicated they are preparing to return over $1.1 million in political donations received from SBF. The Democratic National Committee stated in a release that, given SBF's "potential campaign finance violations," the committee has decided to return $815,000 from SBF, while the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee indicated it would reserve $103,000, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee stated it would reserve $250,000. All three groups have stated that they will use the ongoing FTX bankruptcy-related litigation as guidance for returning the funds.
Previously, ChainCatcher reported that as of October 25, SBF had donated $39.2 million in the current U.S. bipartisan campaign, making him the fifth-largest donor. Subsequently, on November 30, SBF stated that his donations to the two major parties in the U.S. were equal, but the donations to the Republican Party were made secretly. (source link)
