Grayscale registered a new company "GRAYSCALE LLC" a few hours ago, which is speculated to be related to the restructuring or dissolution of the old entity

ChainCatcher message, according to the Delaware Secretary of State website, on December 22 local time, a new entity "GRAYSCALE LLC" was registered in Delaware, while a company named "GRAYSCALE, LLC" has been registered since 2013, with the only difference being a comma in the names of the two identical limited liability companies.

According to Twitter user @SummersThings, under 6 Del. C. § 17-102(3), the state allows the registration of LLC/Inc/LP using names that are already registered in the state, but requires written consent from the previously registered company. Therefore, the companies with the same name are almost certainly subsidiaries of the original company.

It can be inferred that the "GRAYSCALE, LLC" registered in 2013 and the "GRAYSCALE LLC" registered in 2022 are related entities. @SummersThings speculates that this move may be related to Grayscale restructuring and dissolving the old entity. (source link)
