California regulators issue warnings to 17 cryptocurrency websites suspected of fraud

ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) issued warnings on December 27 and December 28 against 17 cryptocurrency brokerage firms and websites suspected of fraudulent activities, including Tahoe Digital Exchange, TeleTrade Options, Tony Alin Trading Firm, among others. Additionally, there are two scam websites impersonating Wintermute and UniSwap.

DFPI urges consumers to exercise caution before responding to any offers of investment or financial services, and to verify whether the investment or financial service provider is licensed in California. (Cointelegraph)
