Turkey's central bank conducts first CBDC test
ChainCatcher news, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has conducted its first test of the Turkish digital currency. As part of the initial testing phase, the CBRT successfully executed the first payment transaction on its Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) network.
It is reported that in the first quarter of 2023, the CBRT will continue small-scale, closed-loop application testing with relevant parties. The results of the tests will be published in a comprehensive evaluation report. In 2023, the central bank will conduct further pilot tests with broad participation, including banks and fintech companies. (source link)
