Beosin: The total amount of crime in the blockchain field reached 13.7 billion USD in 2022

According to ChainCatcher news, data from Beosin KYT, a virtual asset anti-money laundering compliance and analysis platform under the blockchain security auditing company Beosin, shows that the total amount of crime in the blockchain sector reached $13.76074 billion in 2022. Among this, money laundering accounted for $7.33 billion, attack incidents for $3.6 billion, pyramid schemes for $1.015 billion, and fraud for $830 million.

Money laundering cases accounted for 53% of the total cryptocurrency crime amount, with some cases involving cross-border money laundering, which poses high demands on the multinational cooperation capabilities of the global regulatory system. Pyramid scheme cases amounted to $1 billion in 2022, often involving a large number of users and causing significant harm. The total amount of global cryptocurrency fraud reached $830 million, with 51% of this amount coming from rug pulls.
