Metaplex will allow creators to start enabling royalty enforcement from January 6
ChainCatcher news, the NFT platform Metaplex on Solana announced that starting next Friday (January 6), creators will be able to upgrade existing NFT collections to enable royalty enforcement. The upgrade process is divided into two methods: community voting and scheduled upgrades (with a 14-day notice to holders). Once the creator initiates the on-chain upgrade process, a 14-day countdown will begin before the upgrade takes effect.
Metaplex stated that existing NFT collections will have 90 days to upgrade. After that, it will be possible to mint programmable NFTs or regular NFTs using enforced royalties, but migration between the two will not be supported. (Source link)
