BitKeep updates on the handling progress of the hacking incident: Compensation application page will be launched in the app through judicial forensics
ChainCatcher news, Web3 multi-chain wallet BitKeep announced that it will launch a compensation application page within the BitKeep APP. Affected users can submit their compensation address, currency, and other information through this page, which is currently under urgent development.
In addition, BitKeep stated that the team is currently collecting key information through judicial processes. Due to the need to cooperate with relevant departments' investigations, it is not convenient to disclose more information at this time. Previously, the BitKeep APK 7.2.9 installation package was hijacked and replaced by hackers, causing some users to use application packages that had been implanted with hacker code, resulting in private key leaks.
BitKeep CEO Kevin stated at the end of December regarding the attack incident, "We have currently frozen part of the hacker's funds, and we are also making every effort to recover the remaining losses for users." (source link)
