ChainCatcher news, the Open Forest Protocol (OFP), an open platform for measuring, reporting, and verifying forest projects built on a carbon-neutral blockchain, announced the completion of a $4.1 million seed round financing, with participation from Shima Capital, Übermorgen Ventures, Not Boring Capital, Mercy Corps Ventures, Byzantine Marine, Big Brain Holdings, Valor Capital, and several angel investors. The funds raised will be used to continue building the core infrastructure of the system and accelerate the launch of government, non-governmental organization, and individual projects.
It is reported that OFP was founded in 2021 by Swiss scientist Frederic Fournier and American Web3 expert Michael Kelly. It is an open platform that supports measuring, reporting, and verifying reforestation data for forest projects of any scale globally. It has already collaborated with approximately 40 reforestation/afforestation projects worldwide through its blockchain-based measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) technology. (Source link)
