Polygon proposed a hard fork upgrade aimed at addressing the issues of soaring gas fees and chain reorganization

ChainCatcher news, Polygon proposes a hard fork for its Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchain. If approved, the software upgrade will take place on January 17 and will address the issues of rising gas fees and blockchain reorganization.

It is reported that discussions about the hard fork were first introduced to the Polygon community in December 2022. The first change in this hard fork involves adjustments to gas fees. Polygon aims to address the rapid increase in gas fees that occurs when there is a significant rise in on-chain activity through the fork. The second change relates to reorganization, which may occur when validator nodes receive information about a temporarily created new version of the blockchain. To address the relatively frequent reorganization issues, Polygon hopes to reduce the time required to validate successful transactions. (source link)
