Wormhole attackers sold off SOL and bridged approximately 2.9 million USDC to a new Ethereum address
ChainCatcher message indicates that on-chain data shows the cross-chain protocol Wormhole attacker (5XiqTJQBTZKcGjcbCydZvf9NzhE2R3g7GDx1yKHxs8jd) sold approximately 2.6 million dollars worth of SOL for USDC, and the address currently still holds 192,651 SOL. According to SlowMist monitoring, the hacker subsequently bridged about 2.9 million USDC to a new Ethereum address, with the initial Gas fee coming from a previously flagged wallet address (Wormhole Network Exploiter).
Earlier reports indicated that on February 3, 2022, the cross-chain protocol Wormhole was hacked, resulting in a loss of 120,000 ETH (approximately 326 million dollars). Currently, 80,000 ETH has been transferred to the Ethereum network, while the remaining 40,000 ETH is retained on Solana. (Source link)
