ChainCatcher message, the Ethereum Foundation's official website announces that the Shanghai+Capella (Shapella) mainnet upgrade is entering the final pre-release phase------public testnet. The Zhejiang testnet is now live, and stakers and users can test Shapella today.

The first long-standing public testnet------Sepolia------is scheduled for an upgrade on February 28. Shapella includes many features, but the most important for stakeholders and the consensus layer is the support for withdrawals. Exiting validators can withdraw their full balance, while active validators with a balance exceeding 32 ETH can make partial withdrawals.

In response to rumors that the Shanghai upgrade may be delayed until the second quarter, Ethereum Foundation's Tim Beiko stated that we just announced the first public testnet will fork on February 28, and the mainnet date always depends on the progress of the testnet fork. Assuming everything goes smoothly, we might have another testnet around mid-March, followed by the mainnet Shanghai upgrade in late March/early April. If we find any issues, we will always delay and fix the problems to ensure safety. Right now, I think our target is late March/early April, although this is definitely not a "final" date.
