Coinbase Ethereum L2 network Base releases decentralized roadmap for this year
ChainCatcher news, Coinbase's Ethereum L2 network Base released its 2023 decentralized roadmap, which includes:
Launching at least one fault prover for the OP Stack, utilizing a set of validators to identify and resolve faults, thereby protecting Base and the Optimism mainnet.
Implementing decentralized upgrades for smart contracts on the Base and Optimism mainnets, with plans to introduce a security council where the decentralized quorum is not controlled by any single entity.
Launching the initial version of Superchain, which can order transactions for Base, the Optimism mainnet, and any OP Stack Rollup, ensuring the rights of anyone participating in the Base ecosystem.
Base stated that it will advance Base and the Optimism mainnet to Stage 2 rollups in 2024, making the level of decentralization and security of Base comparable to Ethereum. Additionally, Base claims it will not use other tokens but will continue to use ETH as the native gas token. (source link)
