The Aave community voted to approve the proposal to "freeze BUSD on Aave V2."
ChainCatcher message, the governance page shows that the Aave community's proposal to "freeze BUSD on Aave V2" has been voted through with 100% support and was executed on February 26.
According to the proposal, the DAO collector contract holds approximately $10,500 worth of BUSD. The proposal argues that the circulating supply of BUSD assets will ultimately approach zero. With no real growth prospects, the inability to mint new BUSD could undermine pegging arbitrage opportunities and asset pegging. Therefore, the most reasonable course of action for Aave is to freeze this reserve and invite users to switch to another stablecoin. (Source link)
