According to ChainCatcher news, BitKeep announced that in response to the incident where the 729 APK installation package was hijacked by hackers, resulting in the theft of funds from some users, BitKeep has preemptively compensated user losses and completed the first batch of payments. As of March 1, a total of 6,731 stolen wallets have passed the review, and 50% of the funds have been compensated to all affected users who passed the compensation review. The remaining 50% is expected to be paid out in a lump sum in early this month.

During the compensation application process in February, users with questionable login status and damaged addresses entered the appeal process. As of February 28, a total of 3,857 appeals were generated, and BitKeep has completed the review of all of them. A total of 2,785 addresses confirmed successful appeals, while the reasons for appeal failures included not finding hacker package login information, using the hacker package to store damaged tokens, and address forgery, among others.

BitKeep will push the appeal results within this week and initiate the second batch of compensation application processes, with full compensation payments to be issued in a lump sum to users who pass the review before mid-month.
