ChainCatcher news, ConsenSys announced that it will launch its zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) rollup to the public testnet on March 28, allowing for stress testing of Layer 2 scaling technology. The testnet enables Solidity developers to build, test, and launch DApps while conducting large-scale tests of zkEVM.

ConsenSys also aims to keep its zkEVM open source after the launch. The final upgrade will also initiate its auditing and security processes to ensure zkEVM is secure and reliable before the mainnet launch scheduled for later in 2023. ConsenSys is in discussions with key players in the Ethereum ecosystem regarding the deployment and integration of its zkEVM testnet. (Cointelegraph)
