ChainCatcher news, according to the monitoring of the Beosin EagleEye security risk monitoring, early warning, and blocking platform under the blockchain security audit company Beosin, the number of various security incidents and the amount involved significantly increased in March 2023 compared to February. In March, there were more than 21 typical security incidents, with total losses from various attacks amounting to approximately $218 million, an increase of about 283% compared to February. Additionally, the amount involved in scam exit incidents in March reached $6.6 million.

The main losses this month came from the $197 million loss suffered by Euler Finance due to an attack on March 13, of which the attacker has returned $150 million so far. The second largest attack incident was a vulnerability introduced in the SafeMoon project after an upgrade, allowing arbitrary token destruction, resulting in a loss of $8.9 million. This month, there were two notable phishing incidents targeting individual users, with losses exceeding one million dollars each. Furthermore, the lending protocol Kokomo Finance on Optimism experienced a rug pull, with the deployer absconding with $4 million, marking the largest exit scam in recent times.
