ChainCatcher news, according to the inspection daily report, recently, the Hangzhou Gongshu District People's Procuratorate in Zhejiang Province filed a public prosecution, and the court sentenced the defendant Chen to three years in prison, with a four and a half year probation, and a fine of 7,000 yuan for the crimes of infringing on citizens' personal information and illegally obtaining data from computer information systems, with multiple sentences combined.
On July 20, 2022, Chen accidentally discovered a vulnerability in the login mechanism of a certain digital collectibles platform. Upon investigation, Chen successfully logged into the accounts of more than 30 users and sold digital collectibles from 21 of those users at prices ranging from 1,400 yuan to 1,600 yuan each, totaling a profit of over 30,000 yuan.
