Musk: The decision to acquire Twitter was made under pressure from the court
ChainCatcher news, Twitter CEO Elon Musk revealed during an interview with BBC reporter James Clayton that the final decision to acquire Twitter was made under pressure from the courts, which he believed would ultimately require him to complete the acquisition.
Previously, ChainCatcher reported that Musk announced his intention to acquire Twitter after initially refusing to join the Twitter board in early April 2022, offering a purchase price of $43.4 billion, but faced strong resistance from the Twitter board. Subsequently, possibly due to market downturns and other factors, Musk unilaterally announced in September that the acquisition agreement had been terminated, at which point the Twitter board again refused to terminate the acquisition and sued Musk to compel him to complete the purchase. Ultimately, Musk completed the acquisition of Twitter at the end of October 2022. (source link)
