U.S. Congressman questions SEC Chairman: the latter refuses to clearly respond whether ETH is a commodity or a security

ChainCatcher news, during the oversight hearing on digital asset regulation held by the U.S. House of Representatives Digital Assets Subcommittee, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Patrick McHenry repeatedly asked SEC Chairman Gary Gensler "Is ETH a commodity or a security?" to which Gary Gensler repeatedly refused to provide a clear answer.

Patrick McHenry believes that Gary Gensler's climate disclosure rules, along with his enforcement of digital asset regulation, undermine capital markets and stifle innovation. (source link)
