Bloomberg: The U.S. President plans to prohibit the new communications director from participating in cryptocurrency-related matters, but they can provide recommendations on regulation
ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, U.S. President Joe Biden plans to prohibit his new communications director Ben LaBolt from participating in legal matters, investigations, or contracts involving cryptocurrency or technology companies, including Meta, venture capital firm Haun Ventures, and Shopify. However, the White House stated on Friday that Ben LaBolt will be allowed to advise on the president's approach to regulating cryptocurrency and social media companies.
It is reported that, according to an ethics disclosure released last Friday, LaBolt's previous clients at his communications firm include early investors in cryptocurrency trading platforms Uniswap and Coinbase, a16z. He also served as a spokesperson for Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan's family office, West Street. (Source link)
