Yuga Labs' new CEO plans to allow external companies to develop Otherside, seeking to revitalize NFTs through games and events
ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, Yuga Labs' new CEO Daniel Alegre stated in an interview that NFTs still have a bright future as they are the key to the worlds of gaming, events, and e-commerce.
Alegre pointed out that the company plans to increase user access to its games and allow other companies to develop products and events for Otherside. Since joining the company, he has spent most of his time internally restructuring Yuga to make it look more like a traditional business, breaking each NFT series into its own small IP.
Additionally, he believes that the lack of high-quality games that can compete with traditional publishers has been a common issue for Yuga and Web3 game studios. The company is still considering whether it will eventually move beyond web and mobile games to promote its brand on gaming consoles. He stated, "In fact, large gaming companies must fundamentally disrupt their economic models to truly consider how others can own a piece of the ecosystem." (source link)
