Musk: Twitter plans to launch a pay-per-article feature next month
ChainCatcher news, Musk tweeted that Twitter plans to launch a pay-per-article reading feature next month, allowing media publishers to charge users who click to read articles. Musk also stated that if users do not subscribe to the media on a monthly basis, the price for reading each article will be higher, which will be a win-win for the public and media organizations.
In addition, according to Business Insider, Twitter has not disclosed more details about the plan, such as which accounts are eligible to use this feature, how much revenue share a paid article platform will have, and whether this feature is limited to official media, etc. The media commented that in the past, some media organizations attempted to charge per article, but this model did not continue, as monthly subscriptions better guarantee revenue.
ChainCatcher previously reported that Twitter has launched a paid subscription feature, which does not charge a revenue share for one year. (source link)
