ChainCatcher news, Luka Burazer, a director of the Croatian cryptocurrency investment firm BitLucky, stated in an email sent to clients on May 19: "Due to a series of bad trades and decisions, the company is now facing a crisis. We will provide more information in the coming days." However, he and the company's co-founder subsequently went completely offline and deleted their social media.

According to local media Jutarnji list, a secretary from the company explained over the phone, "The directors have spent all the money."
