Circle hires former CFTC Chairman Heath Tarbert as Chief Counsel
ChainCatcher news, stablecoin USDC issuer Circle announced the appointment of former CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) Chairman Heath Tarbert as Chief Legal Officer. Currently, Circle, along with Coinbase, oversees nearly $30 billion in USDC stablecoins, but Coinbase is facing a lawsuit from the U.S. SEC.
Circle founder Jeremy Allaire stated that Heath Tarbert will help enhance the practical value of USDC with his legal acumen and global regulatory experience. (source link)
