Insiders: BlackRock will submit a Bitcoin ETF application, using Coinbase Custody for pricing
ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk citing informed sources, asset management giant BlackRock will submit an application for a Bitcoin ETF (exchange-traded fund), and BlackRock will use Coinbase (COIN) Custody to price the ETF and spot market data from cryptocurrency exchanges.
It is reported that BlackRock has been collaborating with Coinbase since mid-last year to allow institutional investors to directly use cryptocurrencies. It is still unclear whether the ETF is spot or futures. BlackRock did not immediately respond to a request for comment. (source link)
