The SEC agrees to waive the $30 million fine against BlockFi until investors are repaid
ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, a court document shows that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has agreed to waive the $30 million penalty against the bankrupt crypto lending platform BlockFi until investors are repaid.
This amount is the remaining part of the $50 million penalty BlockFi owes to the SEC for failing to register the issuance and sale of its crypto lending products with the regulator. BlockFi agreed to settle in February 2022 but filed for bankruptcy in November 2022 after the collapse of FTX. (source link)
