According to ChainCatcher news, the Gitcoin community is currently voting on the proposal "Restricting who can initiate governance proposals on Snapshot," with a support rate of 99.81%. The voting will end on June 26.

The proposal states that over the past month, Web3 (including Gitcoin) has experienced a series of fraudulent or scam Snapshot proposals that have been posted on various DAO snapshot sites. Among them, the Gitcoin Snapshot account has posted scam proposals titled "Proposal for Gitcoin Airdrop" four times. Although there is currently a "Quick Lock Proposal" feature that locks Gitcoin Snapshot accounts using Gitcoin Passport, the database updates are not 100% effective, so accounts have been updated to only allow users with a balance of at least 100 GTC or more than 1000 Twitter followers to post.

It is reported that the Gitcoin DAO governance process v3 previously defined the management of Gitcoin proposal/voting processes: 1. Allow comments for five days; 2. Upon receiving comments from five administrators, if both conditions are met and the proposal format is correct, the proposal can enter Snapshot for voting. (Source link)
