Blockchain entrepreneur Roger Ver shares support for the evolving decentralized VPN network
Sentinel is a powerful protocol that supports the development of third-party and white-label decentralized virtual private network (dVPN) services. It is pleased to announce a partnership and integration with leading node-as-a-service (NaaS) provider StrongBlock.
StrongBlock deploys and operates complete blockchain nodes for new users to enhance overall blockchain uptime and availability, rewarding them with a native protocol token called STRONG. This collaboration lays the foundation for expanding the reach and utility of Sentinel's dVPN, while also creating new use cases for the underlying network.
Sentinel and StrongBlock will jointly provide a truly decentralized VPN that surpasses the currently limited performance and user experience of centralized competitors like NordVPN, TunnelBear, Mullvad, and ExpressVPN, all of which suffer from single points of failure due to their centralized design.

Srinivas Baride, Chief Technology Officer of Exidio, a core contributor to the Sentinel network, stated: "Partnering with StrongBlock will strengthen the Sentinel network by increasing bandwidth and reliability for users seeking a secure and decentralized dVPN." "StrongBlock allocates resources through over 5,800 operators running more than 23,000 nodes. The addition of these node operators will significantly enhance user bandwidth, far exceeding current capacity."
The deployment of nodes on behalf of Sentinel strengthens StrongBlock's long-term strategy to establish a node ecosystem across blockchain protocols while creating value for node operators within its own ecosystem. "This is the power of a strong army of nodes at work," said StrongBlock CEO David Moss. "StrongBlock's click-to-deploy process will allow anyone to provide dVPN nodes to the Sentinel network and earn passive income."
Proof-of-work (PoW) miners typically receive native tokens like BTC or ETH as mining rewards, while nodes record transactions without receiving any rewards. Now, node operators will earn $DVPN token rewards to incentivize network health, uptime, and availability while running dVPN nodes through StrongBlock.
StrongBlock and bitcoin.com will collaborate with the Pangea Blockchain Fund to operate validation nodes on the Sentinel network, supported by renowned blockchain entrepreneur Roger Ver and the new Pangea Research project.
Ver emphasized why a decentralized VPN ecosystem is important, stating, "You can't have just one VPN company that can be compromised at any time, or leak all customer data, or have all sorts of bad things happen. The more holes we can dig in the Great Firewall of China and all the other censorship regimes on the internet, the better the world will be for everyone. Therefore, I am very excited about these decentralized VPN protocols that enable people to communicate more freely without permission or surveillance."
"Being able to allow people around the world to access information without censorship is really a big deal. I support any technology that enables individuals to have better control over their lives and gain more information," Ver added.
The integration with Sentinel and StrongBlock will incentivize verifiable private node operators to share dVPN bandwidth among an increasing number of nodes, enabling new, highly available Web3 applications to be built on top of the Sentinel network.
About Sentinel
Sentinel is a decentralized VPN protocol built on a Cosmos SDK-based architecture. Unlike centralized VPN companies that have been proven to log user data, Sentinel is an open-source, encrypted, peer-to-peer bandwidth marketplace accessible to anyone. Users can connect to any provably secure dVPN application built on the Sentinel network. Individuals can also earn passive income by providing bandwidth to the marketplace. Real-time network statistics can be found at https://stats.sentinel.co.

About StrongBlock
Led by blockchain and enterprise software veterans CEO David Moss, CTO Brian Abramson, and CPO Corey Lederer, StrongBlock is the first and only cross-chain protocol that rewards nodes supporting its blockchain infrastructure.
The STRONG protocol and node reward mechanism, combined with NFTFi tokens, lay the foundation for a more robust, secure, and economical blockchain network.
STRONG supports decentralized governance of its community DeFi protocols. STRONG is not a fundraising tool or investment opportunity.
