ChainCatcher news, Binance CEO Zhao Changpeng stated that yesterday Binance's internal address fell victim to a zero transfer scam. After completing a transfer of 20 million USDT, the operator immediately realized the mistake and promptly requested to freeze the USDT. Currently, some procedures are being followed, including filing a police report to recover the funds. Zhao Changpeng reminded users to be vigilant against such scams.

It is reported that the zero transfer scam uses an address that has the same first and last alphanumeric characters as the target address (only differing in the middle characters) to transfer 0 tokens to complete the attack. Users, due to carelessness during the transfer, confuse the hacker's address with the address they originally intended to transfer to, thereby actively transferring funds to the hacker's address.
