ChainCatcher news, Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal stated regarding the lawsuit about the Tornado Cash sanctions, "We still believe the plaintiffs' challenges to the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) actions against Tornado Cash are correct. We have always known that resolving these issues requires review by the Fifth Circuit Court, and we will continue to support their appeal."

Earlier reports indicated that the judge dismissed part of the plaintiffs' motion for summary judgment in the Tornado Cash lawsuit, with the court finding that Tornado Cash is an association in the ordinary sense, and therefore an entity that can be designated under OFAC regulations.
